Tewantin Shield - November 2010
This event is our premiere interclub activity for the year. The event is "owned" by all the participating clubs,
but we are the hosts. The event is designed to encourage active participation and give the smaller regional
clubs north of Brisbane an opportunity to compete together in a larger group without being swamped by
the major metropolitan clubs.
The event is held every November on a Saturday evening, starting at 7pm. Each club enters five images from
four categories (People, Nature, Pictorial, plus one wildcard subject). To prepare our club's entry we will submit
the best of the monthly submissions in each category.
All the club submissions are then submitted for judging by three external judges. On the night after all the
clubs' images have been shown and the winners announced, there will be door prizes and a social supper
(which we as a club provide). The club with the lowest aggregate score on the night has the honour of
deciding on the following year's wildcard subject - in 2010 the subject is "Celebration of Life".
In 2009 Noosa Photo Club came 3rd out of the eleven clubs that entered.
